At 19.41 hours this evening, Fire Control took a call from someone in a public house, a three storey property, where it was reported that a tumble dryer had caught on fire in the first floor flat.
The caller was advised to immediately evacuate the whole building and we would attend as soon as possible.
A total of 12 firefighters, one crew from Bodmin Fire Station, and a second crew from Lostwithiel Fire Station were mobilised to the scene, and on their arrival there was smoke issuing from the premise.
Two breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera and one hose reel were used to extinguish the fire. And a Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan was used to clear the smoke.
