About 50 Cattle Saved From Fire In Adjoining Barn

2 appliances from St Austell attended a barn, measuring 10 metres by 8 metres, which was well alight. About 50 cattle in an adjoining barn were released to the safety of a field. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one jet to deal with the fire. A crew from Mevagissey relieved their St Austell colleagues and damped down, leaving the scene at 1245hrs. Arson is suspected and the police are investigating.
