Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service are still on scene, following receiving a call, reporting a bungalow on fire at Carnon Downs, at 1.33am this morning. This was followed by several repeat calls from neighbouring properties reporting same.

Crews from Falmouth, Truro and Redruth, totalling 30 firefighters attended the scene, where the single storey dwelling was reported to be well alight.

Four compressed air breathing apparatus, two hose reels jets and two hydrants were used to help extinguish the blaze; crews also removing some roof tiles to assist extinguishing the remainder of the fire.

One casualty was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
