One appliance from Mevagissey Fire Station with 6 firefighters on board, attended a call to a suspected chimney fire in Polmassick today.

It was found, on arrival, that the fire was confined to the Park Ray room heater and the crew used a stirrup pump, rods and small gear to extinguish it.

The roof space was also inspected and checked, and the owner was advised to have his chimney checked by a competent person.
