Six firefighters in one appliance from Newquay were mobilised to a property where the occupant was concerned about a strange smell coming from the electric fusebox. On crews arrival there was smoke coming from the fuse box and crews used a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher and isolated the electricity supply to the box. Electrical engineers were requested to attend. On further inspection of the property fire crews discovered there was also a fire in the roof space of the dwelling, this was extinguished using one hose reel. Firefighters remained on scene until the Electrical engineers were in attendance.
