Chimney Fire

One pumping appliance with a crew of 5 firefighters from Launceston Fire Station attended a chimney fire, involving a woodburner, in a single storey cottage in Egloskerry, today.

Crews used a thermal imaging camera and small tools to try to extinguish the fire behind the woodburner which had an awkward access.

They then, further due to the awkward access to the chimney, crews had to go aloft the single storey cottage using a triple extension ladder, a roof ladder, one hose reel jet and a safety at height and confined spaces kit.
