On receipt of this call stating that there was a chemical spill on the road, appliances from Redruth and Camborne were mobilised, on arrival the crew found approximately 5 litres of a liquid had spilt, precautions had been taken before arrival of Cornwall Fire & Rescue to stop the spill entering the drain system. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using gauntlets placed the contaminate in a overdrum and any remaining fluid was diluted using a high pressure hosereel and the highway was washed down.
