Twelvewoods close, Dobwalls at 23/03/2004 02:39

At 0239 this morning two appliances from Liskeard attended an address in Twelvewoods Close, Dobwalls to a fire in the settee caused by a discarded cigarette end 4 sets of breathing apparatus and a hosereel were used to extinguish the fire - 2 adults and 4 children were taken by ambulance to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

General Advice:
Night Time Check
Check everything is safe, candles and smoking materials are properly extinguished.
Close all doors downstairs.
Ensure fireguards are in place.
All electrical appliances are switched off (unless designed to be left on).
Make sure a key is left near each external door in case of fire.
Ensure the escape route is free from obstruction, which would slow your escape.
