Firefighters from Falmouth and Truro alongside a wholetime officer were mobilised to a reported kitchen fire in halls of residence in Penryn. On arrival of the first pump crews stated smoke was issuing. The fire was located in a ground floor kitchen area. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinugish the fire and a thermal image camera to confirm the fire was completely out, they also cut away to confirm that the fire had not spread. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the building of smoke. The fire was confirmed to be accidental and confined to the kitchen.
