On receipt of this call appliances from Newquay, Perranporth and St. Columb were mobilised, on arrival at the incident further resources were requested which came from Truro and St. Dennis.
A total of six appliances were in attendance, the roof of the property measuring eight metres by four metres was well alight, crews used a main jet and two high pressure hosereels and proceeded to undertake salvage at the scene.
The incident command unit from S. Just, the breathing support unit from St. Austell, the welfare vehicle from St. Dennis also the fire emergency support vehicle from Falmouth were also in attendance. A total of 50 personnel are in attendance.
Update 2128: The fire has now broken through the main roof into the main building, crews are involved cutting away thatch from the roof, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets and high pressure hosereel jets to fight the fire.
Update 2300: The fire now involved the first floor of the property, the thatch is being removed and firefighting being undertaken by teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using main jets and high pressure hosereel jets, Western Power attended and isolated power to the property.
Update 0020: Good progress is being made, the incident is now scaling down, breathing apparatus teams have been withdran and appliances from St. Dennis and Truro are returning, three main jets and two high pressure hosereels are still in use.
Update 0300: The incident is slowly being scaled down, there are now only three appliances in attendance, three relief appliances will be taking over coming from Polruan, St. Austell and Bodmin, Fire & Rescue personnel are continuing to damp down and monitor the property.
Update 0600: Crews are continuing to damp down and remove debris.
Update 0700: On scene appliances are shortly returning to their home stations to be replaced by two further appliances from Newquay and St. Austell.
