Two appliances with nine Firefighters from St Dennis and one from St Austell with six firefighters attended a call to a building with a transformed unit on fire in a solar panel farm. The fire service was alerted to the fire by a member of staff on the site. Once on scene Fire crews remained defensive with carbon dioxide, dry powder fire extinguishers and a covering jet. The building measured 5 x 3 metres and no firefighting actions were able to be taken until the electricity to the building was isolated. At 12:38 the electricity was confirmed off and firefighters were able to commence firefighting. Crews used two breathing apparatus with the carbon dioxide and dry powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out, crews remained on scene for a time damping down.
