On receipt of this call, appliances from Penzance were mobilised, whilst the operator was still on the call the incident was classified as 'Persons Reported' and further appliances from St. Just and St. Ives were mobilised.
On arrival smoke was seen to be issuing from the property, it was confirmed that persons were within a two storey domestic premises, a triple extension ladder was used to gain access to a first floor window, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus made forced entry and proceeded to extinguish a fire in the kitchen using a high pressure hosereel jet.
Cornwall Fire & Rescue personnel proceeded to rescue one female and two small children, who were taken in to the care of attending ambulance crews, who were then transferred to West Cornwall Hospital for a precautionary check up. Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance.
Fortunately the premises had a working smoke detector and raised the alarm.
