On receipt of this call appliances from Saltash were mobilised, on arrival crews found smoke issuing from a property and further resources were requested, two appliances and and aerial ladder from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue and an appliance from Callington were mobilised also two wholetime officers.
The fire involved a detached bungalow measuring ten metres by five metres with a fire in the roof space, the incident was initially classified as 'Persons Reported' but fortunately it was quickly established that everyone was accounted for, support resources from Launceston and St. Austell were not required.
Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used main jets and high pressure hosereel jets to extinguish the fire, by 0500 hours the fire had been virtually extinguished, with crews turning over and damping down.
