Following a call to machinery on fire in a wood yard with an extremely large amount of wood in close proximity to the machine, crews from St Columb, Newquay and Padstow Community Fire Stations were mobilised to the scene.

Crews found the fire near the wood chipping machine, and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze, then, further liaising with the owners to move said machinery, dampened down the surrounding chippings, later using a swing shovel to move them back from the base of the machine, while continuing to cover with the hose reel jet.
