Rough Tor, Advent at 30/05/2015 12:33
A fire officer from Bodmin assisted a member of the public and a farmer with the rescue of a very young lamb who had fallen through a 4 inch wide gap between boulders at top of Rough Tor. The lamb was distressed and calling for its mum who was near by. The Fire Officer and Member of the public at first thought the lamb was not able to be rescued due to the size of the boulders trapping the animal. On scene they dug a small hole in the soil lower down one of the rock faces to make a slightly larger access hole to the lamb. The farmer managed to get a hold of the lamb through the new access hole and successfully managed to manipulate the lamb backwards out from between the boulders. After a quick check over the lamb was released back on the moor with its mum.
