Roche, St Austell at 02/06/2015 15:38
Two pumping appliances, one from St Dennis and one from St Austell Community Fire Stations, with a total of 11 firefighters on board, were mobilised earlier today to a property in Roche.
The owner had rung Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service to say they had returned home but before entering the premise could see that all of the windows to the property were blackened on the inside.
Crews attending reported that the two storey detached domestic property, measuring approximately 12 metres x 7 metres, had had a fire, but this was believed to be out already. Two hose reels, breathing apparatus, and a thermal imaging camera were used to carry out an internal inspection which soon established that the fire location was in one of the bedrooms, where a laptop had been left on the bed, switched on.
Crews confirmed that all persons were accounted for and ventilation of the property was carried out.
The fire was accidental and confined.
This is all the information we have on this incident.
