Appliances from Bodmin and St Austell attended a call to a solar farm transformer unit on fire. The unit was a shipping container and measured 6.5 metres long. The unit was well alight on crews arrival, Western Power engineers and a representative of the Solar company was in attendance on crews arrival. Western Power and the Solar contractor worked together on site to isolate the power to the transformer. Fire crews remained on scene for over an hour and a half allowing the structure to burn, due to its safe and isolated location. The incident was left in the hands of a contractor on site.
