Two fire appliances from Penzance and one fire appliance from St Just along with a wholetime officer attended reports of the smell of smoke and fire alarms sounding from within a property on Chapel Street in Penzance. On arrival crews discovered a kitchen fire in a first floor flat. Having gained access with a triple extension ladder, they extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and one hosereel. One casualty was escorted from the property.
