Crews from St. Mawes initially responsed to this call, on arrival they found a terraced cottage (15 x 8 metres) well alight, further resources were requested and crews attended from St. Austell and Truro, also the water carrier from Newquay. Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a jet and hosereels to extinguish the fire. Crews were delayed for a considerable time damping down and turning over. The last appliance returned to its home station at approximately 2300 hours.
