Following a call to a trailer fire, that was detached from the lorry but near to some pallets, on an industrial estate in Launceston, crews from Launceston and Callington, with a total, over the two pumping appliances, of 12 firefighters on board, were mobilised to the scene. A wholetime officer also attended.

The firefighters found that the large trailer contained a considerable amount of cooking oil, and while these oil drums were, in the main, removed from the container using a fork lift truck, crews used breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and one foam branch to extinguish the flames.

The fire was accidental and confined.
