Fire Control received many calls to a fire involving a property in Hayle. The fire started in the bedroom and flames could be seen by callers coming from the window. Appliances, with thirty one firefighters from Hayle, Tolvadden and St Ives Fire Stations together with specialist appliances from Falmouth and St Just Fire Stations attended the incident. The property involved was an end of terrace two storey house measuring approximately eight metres by four metres. Firefighters wearing six breathing apparatus used two hose reels, a covering jet and several main jets to extinguish the fire. Firefighters then cut away the ceilings and floorboards to expose hotspots and used two hose reels to extinguish them and a thermal image camera to ensure there was no further fire spread.
