Two appliances from Penzance Fire Station were mobilised to a report by a neighbour of a smoke alarm sounding in the next door property. When the neighbour looked into the kitchen they saw an oven glove left on an unattended hob. When the crew arrived they found a small fire in the kitchen and two firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. At the time it was believed that there may have been an occupant in the property. Four firefighters wearing four breathing appartus made a full search of the two storey detached domestic house which measured approximately six metres by four metres. The fire was confined to the kitchen and all persons were accounted for, however the firefighters did rescue two dogs and one cat from the property.
