On receipt of this call both appliances from St. Austell were mobilised, on arrival at the scene the crews classified the incident as 'Persons Reported'. The fire involved a detached dormer bungalow aproximatley ten metres by eight metres involving the integral garage and the roof space, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high pressure hosereels and main jets at the scene, one elderly resident was led from the property, the gas board were requested as a mains gas pipe had ruptured and was on fire. Fire and Rescue personnel extinguished the fire and then proceeded to cut away and damp down hot spots. Ambulance services were on scene also Devon & Cornwall Police. The Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS) vehicle was also in attendance.
