A total of ten firefighters on two appliances from Newquay and St Columb attended a call to a car on fire on the road between Fraddon and Brighton cross. On crews arrival the pick-up had a fire in the engine compartment and two breathing apparatus and one hose reel was used to extinguish the fire. Police were requested to attend due to the vehicle being located on the carriageway of the road.
