At 1925 Fire Control received a call to a reported fuel leak from a car following an RTA, the driver had absconded. Whilst dealing with the incident the crew smelt something they thought may be a chemical. Tins inside the vehicle were labelled paint but there was another with no labelling. Whilst we were preparing for this new revelation it transpired that the police had caught the driver who said that the contents were in fact paint and thinners and a tin of aluminium primer. So no chemical incident! However the tins were placed in a overdrum for collection by a specialist recovery firm for safety.
