At 1416 we received a call from a male bedridden invalid who thought he could hear crackling - possibly a fire - from the kitchen. We alerted the Ambulance and mobilised two appliances from Saltash. Upon our arrival it was found that the noises heard were from a cat playing on the kitchen worktop with a plastic bag! "All's well that ends well! "
