One appliance from St Dennis Fire Station and one appliance from St Austell Fire Station attended a call to a property at the above location. This call came via a third party as the occupier had rung them instead of dialling 999. Please do not hesitate ringing 999 in an emergency, this saves valuable time in getting to you and we can give you advice on fire survival and evacuating the premises.

On crews arrival they found a fire in the kitchen of a semi detached bungalow measuring approximately eight metres by six metres, involving a kitchen appliance. Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and a thermal image camera to check that the fire had not spread to other areas. The crew also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove smoke from the property. An ambulance was requested for the male occupant who had suffered suspected smoke inhalation.
