One male was rescued from his flat in the early hours of this morning, following neighbours being alerted by a smoke alarm sounding.

Crews from Helston and Mullion Community Fire Stations, plus a wholetime officer, attended the scene, which was a ground floor dwelling measuring approximately 6 metres x 6 metres. Crews used breathing apparatus, a safety jet and a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire, which was in a grill pan, and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.

Police and Ambulance were also in attendance.
