Mud Rescue

On receipt of this call from a person trapped up to his waist in mud, water rescue units from Falmouth and St. Austell were mobilised, also appliances from Falmouth and Tolvaddon, on arrival at the scene water rescue personnel were deployed and specialist mud lances and inflatable mud paths were used in joint collaboration with attending UK Coastguard personel to release the casualty. The male casualty was recovered to the shoreline and treated for hypothermia and compression due to being trapped in the mud for some time, oxygen was administered and a thermal blanket used until the arrival of ambulance personnel.
