At 0322 hours this morning fire control received a 999 call from a resident of the property who was trapped within a bedroom. The caller was alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm. A fire control operator was able to successfully provide fire survival guidance and reassurance until the person was rescued from the first floor using a triple extension ladder. Fourteen firefighters from St Austell and St Dennis attended this incident. Four Breathing apparatus wearers using a jet tackled the fire which was located within the ground floor of the property. The casualty was treated by the ambulance service. There is no more information available for this incident.
