Appliances from Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin Fire Stations attended a report of smoke issuing from windows and the front door of a domestic property in Rainyfields Close.

On arrival the crews found the property to be heavily smoke logged and the fire was located in a downstairs bedroom. Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and a thermal image camera was used to ensure the fire hadn't spread. This was a semi detached property measured approximately five metres by five metres. An ambulance also attended as one male was suffering from smoke inhalation and shock, fire crews also administered oxygen until arrival of the ambulance crew.
