On receipt of this call stating that a room in a property was full of smoke, appliances from Helston were mobilised, on arrival it was established that the cause of the smoke within the property was from an adjoining property, crews gained access and extinguished the fire in an open grate and proceeded to extinguish a fire in the chimney using chimney rods and a stirrup pump, with a wholetime officer in attendance it was decided to try to extinguish the fire from the roof as the chimney was blocked, a further appliance from Penzance attended and the crew accessed the roof using specialist rope safety equipment and proceeded to extinguish the fire.
