On receipt of this call stating that the caller could hear a smoke alarm and the windows of a property were darkened, both appliances from Newquay were mobilised, on arrival at the scene smoke was reported issuing from a flat, a request was made for a further appliance, which attended from Perranporth, the incident was then classified as 'persons reported.' Teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed at the scene with high pressure hosereels to a ground floor flat and first floor flat, the fire was found on the ground floor and quickly extinguished, crews then confirmed that all persons were accounted for, they then continued to damp down using a hosereel. The cause was accidental.
