At 0704hrs this morning Fire Control received a call from a neighbour requesting our assistance to a property in Mawgan. The neighbour reported the male occupant had become trapped in his property after a tree had fallen on the roof. Appliances from Helston, Mullion and the rescue tender from Tolvaddon were mobilised. On arrival firefighters found the tree had caused the ceiling to collapse trapping the occupier by his legs. He was rescued and placed in the care of ambulance paramedics. Damage was also caused to a LPG cylinder and the gas company were requested to attend, firefighters made the scene safe. Western Power were also asked to attend as power lines had been brought down.
