Hoax Call

Trevenson Street, Camborne at 17/01/2016 15:44

Firefighters from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station responded to an abandoned call, believed to have been made by a child, reporting a house on fire. No address was given by the caller but technology available in Fire Control, allows the location of the telephone being used to be displayed. There was no sign of fire when the firefighters arrived at the address and the call was determined to have been made maliciously.

As it is a crime to make hoax calls to the emergency services, the police have been informed and they are now investigating.

Whilst the firefighters were investigating this call, they were not available to answer any genuine emergencies, if they had of occurred.

Please teach your children not to misuse the telephone system and potentially put lives at risk.
