Explosion At Falmouth Yacht Marina

Two crews from Falmouth attended an explosion at the marina. Assisted by the lifeboat the fire was quickly extinguished. Crews assisted in lifting the two males, one adult one child, onto the RNAS Culdrose helicopter with the ambulance service.
A fire investigation took place after the vessel and been brought to the slip way. The investigating officer, ADO Brown, discovered that the explosion was caused by a fuel leak. The vapour from the leak ignited when the male adult had started the engine. A second explosion occured soon after throwing both males from the boat.
