Flooding

Just over 100 calls for flooding were received by Fire Control in Truro between 1900hrs and 2300hrs. Of these, the brigade made an attendance to about 30 calls, giving advice to the remainder. The area affected was bounded by Helston and Camborne to the east and Penzance and St Ives to the west. The worst affected areas were Goldsithney, requiring the attendance of 3 pumps and Praze-an-Beeble, where 2 people and their car were rescued from flood water.

Firefighters from St Just, Penzance, St Ives, Camborne, Helston, Redruth, Truro, Perranporth and Falmouth were involved.

Other isolated reports of flooding came from Perranporth, Truro and Treluswell, near Penryn.
