At 01:17 this morning a call was received from the occupant of a property reporting a kitchen fire. Twenty firefighters on three appliances from St Austell and Fowey were mobilised to the incident. Smoke was issuing from the property on crews arrival, the incident was made persons reported as there was concerns that someone may have been in the property. The fire in the semi detached dwelling was located in the ground floor kitchen. Crews used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel, one safety jet and one covering jet to extinguish the fire. An ambulance was requested to attend the incident to treat one casualty for smoke inhalation. At 01:45 hrs it was confirmed that all persons had been accounted for. Electricity engineers were requested to attend to isolate the power to the property.
