Five firefighters on Helston attended a call to an electrical sub station smoking. Smoke was issuing from the unit on crews arrival. The station measured 2 x 2 metres and crews were prepared with one hose reel jet, one jet and two smoke extinguishers ready to tackle the fire. Western power was requested to attend the incident to isolate power to the unit. On arrival the western power engineer confirmed that a circuit breaker in the sub station had isolated the electric to the item and that the fire service was no longer required.
