At 1513hrs, a call to Fire Control was received stating that an area of gorse was on fire on Carn Brea. Three fire appliances from Tolvaddon Fire Station with a total of 15 firefighters and a supervisory Officer were mobilised to the incident. On arrival, the crews found approximately five hundred square metres of high gorse well alight. The fire crews are currently on scene using beaters to fight the fire.

Update 1630hrs: Firefighters have succeeded in bringing the fire under control. They will be detained ensuring that any isolated hotspots are fully extinguished.
