On receipt of this call stating that a combine harvester on fire, appliances from St. Austell and Truro were mobilised, whilst en route further resources from Mevagissey were mobilised. On arrival the combine harvester was found to be well alight, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high pressure hosereel to extinguish the fire which had completely destroyed the harvester and spread and burnt an area of standing crop, water was supplemented by the other attending appliances, the cause was accidental.
