Large Barn Fire - 6 Pumps and a Water Carrier In Attendance

Firefighters from St Mawes, Truro, St Austell, Mevagissey, St Dennis and Wadebridge are in attendance at a large barn fire containing about 300 bales of straw. Jets are being used protecting surrounding risks.

Update at 2000 hrs: Two appliances and Two water carriers will remain at this incident through the night using hosereels to continue to damp down.

Update 10:00 on Tuesday the 30th August. Cornwall Fire and Rescue service remain in attendance at this time. A water carrier from Wadebridge is shuttling water to the incident using a dam, there are poor water supplies in the area. The farmer has one tractor and trailer and a telehandler working, moving the hay involved into an adjacent field where a jet and hose reel jet are in use damping down. Fire crews will remain on scene for some considerable time.

Update at 1635hrs: Firefighting is now complete and the last crew has left the scene. A crew will return this evening to check that the fire has not re-ignited.

Update at 2030hrs: A crew has inspected the scene and confirm that no re-ignition has occurred.
