Fire crews from Padstow, Wadebridge, St Columb and Newquay attended a fire contained in the kitchen area of a three-storey property. When the crews arrived they were confronted with a fire in a deep fat fryer and the kitchen was heavily smoke logged. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a dry powder extinguisher and a hosereel to extinguish the fire. The electricity and gas supplies were isolated and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke.
