Three appliances with twelve firefighters attended a call to a large stack of hay bales which had been set alight in a field off New road. The bale stack measured 5 x 5 metres and was around 4 metres high. Containing 90 small bales, the stack is well alight and the Farmer is in attendance. Firefighters are using two breathing apparatus, one main jet, one hose reel jet supplied from a hydrant. Crews are also using six pitch forks, along side a digger to break up the stack. This fire is believed to have been started deliberately, Police have been informed and are in attendance.
