On the initial call for this incident, one appliance from Penzance was mobilised, on arrival the crew found the car well alight, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two high pressure hosereel jets and a dry powder extinguisher to extinguish the fire, a further appliance from St. Just attended to supply extra water. Devon & Cornwall Police attended as the vehicle was blocking one lane of the A30. A request was also made for Cornwall Highways to attend as one lane of the A30 was extremely slippery due to an amount of diesel leaking onto the road. Crews were delayed for some considerable time.
