Firefighters from St Ives and Hayle alongside a whole time officer are in attendance at a single storey derelict building measuring 6 meters by 4 meters on fire. The whole building is involved in fire, firefighters are using two hose reel jets, one main jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Building control have been requested due to the building being structurally unsafe. Police have also been requested as at this stage it is believed to be arson. This is all the information that we have on this incident.

Arson does not only threaten lives and damage property it has a detrimental effect on communities and the lives of people within them.

Anyone with information on fires being deliberately started are advised to anonymously call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111 or contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 with information.
