At 18:14 this evening a 999 call was received from a visiting relative of the occupants of the property involved. The relative reported that smoke was coming from the property and the alarms were sounding. A neighbour had entered the property to look for the occupant of the house. Two appliances from St Austell and Fowey were mobilised to the scene. Whilst fire crews were on route to the incident further 999 calls were received confirming that the fire was involving a chip pan and the occupant had been located and was safe. On crews arrival they confirmed that there had been a fire involving a chip pan which had been removed from the property by a neighbour. The two storey semi detached domestic premise was smoke logged, crews carried out natural ventilation before leaving scene.
