Fire In Launderette

Exeter street, Launceston at 11/10/2016 03:34

At 03:34 this morning a call was received from a passer by that there was smoke in the area of Exeter street, soon after a call was received from a resident of the area stating that the windows of a launderette was blackened and felt hot. Two major appliances from Launceston were mobilised to the scene. The three storey building measured 20 x 20 metres and was heavily smoke logged on crews making entry. Crews entered the building with two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a jet. Once the fire had been extinguished crews removed some of the fire loading from the building whilst damping down. Once the fire was confirmed out, fire crews remained on scene ventilating the building.
