Critical Control Operators Assist Trapped Persons In North Yorkshire

North Yorkshire at 27/10/2016 11:58

Critical Control Operators in Cornwall took a 999 call for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and supported 2 persons trapped in their home by directing them to a safe place and gave advice until crews arrived.

Fire crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended this incident and rescued 1 male who was inside the property and unable to exit through immobility. The fire was confined to an appliance in the conservatory and was extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

The state of the art facilities at Service Headquarters in Tolvaddon, combined with our partnership with North Yorkshire provide a range of functions that enables us to assist each other during times when we are busy, as it’s likely that other fire and rescue services within our region are also going to be busy and therefore unable to support us in taking our emergency calls and mobilising fire engines.

By choosing to work with North Yorkshire, both Services are in a better position to be able to have our emergency calls answered during busy times and ensure we can respond to incidents. The help of North Yorkshire in the development of the new Critical Control Centre in Tolvaddon demonstrates our commitment to invest in safer communities, delivering better outcomes to residents, businesses and visitors to Cornwall.
