A call was received by the Critical Control Centre from a walker who could hear dogs barking from an overgrown quarry. The nearest appliance from Falmouth along with an Officer were mobilised and on arrival they requested the line rescue vehicle from Tolvaddon and Water Rescue from Falmouth, a further Technical Rescue Officer was also mobilised. At this particular time the owners of the dogs were not on scene, so the RSPCA were also requested. The crews attempted to reach the dogs by inflatable boat but this was unsuccessful, as it then became clear the dogs were stuck on a ledge above the quarry and not visible from the top. They then set up rescue lines and were able to rescue the dogs from above with the assistance of the water technicians below. The dogs were wearing identification collars with contact numbers attached and the owners were soon on scene to be reunited with their pets.
